2. The bus ride between Porto and Guimaraes is only 45 minutes.
3. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site with well-preserved architecture from the 15th to 19th centuries.
4. From the bus station, it’s an easy walk to the historic city center. Not only it’s easy, it’s also tranquil.
5. We didn’t enter the Duke’s Palace nor the Guimaraes Castle. But photos from the outside are also very attractive.
6. There are lots of restaurants in the city center. We had our lunch at Coconuts. I really liked their Francesinha. We also had tuna salad, shrimp pasta and a beef burger. Unlike the American salad, every ingredient was placed neatly on the plate. And everyone found the shrimp pasta very tasty. We almost wanted to order a second!
