How do you choose a gift for someone?
James Otis, we need to help out,” said Mama. “Mrs.Temple’s daughter’s name is Sarah. She’s seven. You can give her something from your heart,” said Mama. But what would Sarah want?
Mama was making an apron for Mrs. Temple out of her best white tablecloth.
“But Mama,” I said, “that’s the only nice thing in our house!”
“I’m making it with love in my heart,” said Mama.
I thought about things to give to Sarah, but nothing was right. She wouldn’t want an incomplete puzzle, or a few old crayons . Finally, I decided to write a book and draw pictures in it for Sarah.
