Posture is your body’s position while you’re sitting or standing. It’s how your spine is inline with your head, shoulders, hips, and limbs. How can you determine if your posture is good or bad? Good posture doesn’t put stress on your body and helps you maintain balance. Bad posture can easily lead to you getting hurt and experiencing long-term pain. Here are a few different examples of bad posture:
【Forward Head Posture】
With forward head posture, people’s ears are in front of their shoulders instead of in line with them. Commonly, people develop this problem by hunching over a computer or phone.
【Kyphosis】
Rounded shoulders and a rounded upper back indicate kyphosis. This often happens when our bones get weaker with age.
【Swayback】
With swayback, a person’s hips are too far forward. This can happen if you constantly sit, which tightens your back muscles. It also makes your stomach and glute muscles weaker.
【Flatback】
Flatback is a condition in which the lower spine is not curved enough. This can make standing up for long periods painful.
