A long time ago,
there was a day when people were working,
and suddenly the sun disappeared.
It got much colder,
just like at night,
and everyone was very scared.
Some people said a heavenly dog had eaten the sun.
But after a while,
the sun came back.
This event is called a Total Solar Eclipse.
Today, thanks to space telescopes,
we know the real reason is the moon covers the sun completely.
Total Solar Eclipses are rare.
This April, there will be one in North America.
We can't see it,
but we can watch online videos instead.
