MR. Read lives in Sydney，His house is about four kilometers away from his factory，He goes to work by bus，He likes football very much and wants to watch the football matches，His wife likes to buy nice clothes and makes her husband give all his wages to her and he has to do what she says，Then she always gives some money back to him for his bus fares，Of course he doesn't have any money to buy tickets for football matches.
One evening he went to watch a football match，He bought a ticket and used up all his money，So he had to go home on foot，When he went home he felt very tired but he felt very happy，After that he began to go to work on foot，But he was afraid that his rough wife would find out the truth.
This morning when he was having breakfast he heard a piece of news over the radio:The bus fares were going to drop in price，He hurried to turn it off ,but it was too late，His wife asked "what did the radio say just now?"
He had to tell her the news then he said "what a pity!"
"You should be happy "said his wife "you will save some money for our family"
"Sorry !I can't agree with you "
said MR read "I have to watch two matches fewer a month."
看足球比赛
瑞德先生住在悉尼，他的房子距工厂四英里左右，他坐公交车上班。他非常喜欢足球，想看足球比赛，他的妻子喜欢买漂亮衣服，并且让丈夫把工资都给她，而他不得不做妻子说的事。然后妻子返还他一些钱用于车费，自然，他没有钱买票看足球比赛。
一天晚上，他去看了足球比赛，足球赛的票用光了他的钱。所以他不得不步行回家，当他回到家里，他感到很累，但却很高兴，从那以后，他开始步行上班，但他害怕他粗鲁的妻子会发现真相。
这天早晨，他正在吃早餐，听到收音机里有一则新闻，公交车票将降价，他赶紧关了收音机，但是已经太晚了，他的妻子问“收音机里说什么了？”
他不得不告诉她这条新闻，然后他说“太可惜了”
“你应该高兴”，他的妻子说“你将为家里节省开支”
“对不起，我不同意，”瑞德先生说“我一个月至少要看两场比赛！”
