20 years ago in the last few months of her life
My mother is still calling for the attention of the world...
And working to eliminate the terrible effects of land-mine destruction
She visited many affected areas
For example, Huambo, Angola, Travnik, Bosnia
Listening to people there tells them that their lives are full of endless fear
Every step you take may be the last step in your life
She also saw victims who were permanently disabled due to anti-personnel mines
The mother listened to their stories and helped them share them all over the world
In those days, my mother called for paying attention to this issue. Not only was it not generally welcomed
There are even people who criticize her that she should not cross the border and go beyond this political area.
For my mother, this is not about politics;
It's about people
For those who desperately need her to speak, she is their spokesperson.
Regardless of the social marginalized people infected with AIDS from East London
Indians who have been excluded because of leprosy
Or an Angola girl who stepped on a landmine and unfortunately lost her legs
My mother understands that countless flashes focus on her
She took the opportunity to move these concerns to these people...
Those who have been forgotten and neglected by all, or who are afraid to support them because of timidity
I know if my mother is still alive...
She will not take this credit to herself...
Just the same year she visited Angola and Bosnia.
122 countries have signed the Ottawa Mine Ban Convention
My mother met two boys: a Muslim boy and a Serbian boy
They lost their legs because of mines
The two young boys, Malik and Zach, have now grown up.
They are also on the scene today
August of that year, just a few weeks before my mother's accidental death...
She and Zack do not promise and promise: people will not forget his experience
I urge you to stay with me and promise my mother’s promise
Zach and Malik also have this unfortunate experience in the world
All of us need to continue this project.
Commitment - We have the knowledge, skills and resources to achieve our goals
Let future generations be proud of us!
Complete this unsung career together!
可对我母亲来说 这并不关乎政治;
