Everyone knows that moms are heroes(英雄), as it’s a job where you can’t just clock off(打卡下班) at five, and you’re working every hour under the sun. But now research has confirmed(证实;确认) what every mother knows – it’s actuallymore work than a full time job(全职工作).

A survey of 2,000American moms of children aged(…岁的) five to 12 analyzed their weekly schedule(每周安排). The study, conducted by juicecompany Welch’s, revealed(显示;揭示) that the average daily start time for a mom is 6:23am – much earlier thanwhen most people start their working day(工作日).

Once she has finished all the tasks, whether they are career related(相关的) or parenting(养育), she ends her work at 8:31pm.

Not many jobs require(要求) a 14-hour workingday, and most moms have to do this every day of the week. In total(总计), that makes a mother’s working week a whopping(巨大的) 98 hours of work, or two and a half times(2.5倍) more than the average job.

The survey also revealed that the average mom gets just one hour and sevenminutes of time to herself every day – so little more than a lunch hour(午餐时间).

Casey Lewis, healthand nutrition lead at Welch’s, told Yahoo “The results ofthe survey highlight(强调) just how demanding(高要求的) the role of mom can be and the non-stop barrage(连续高强度) of tasks it consists of(包含;由…构成).”

Moms need all the help they can get, and when asked what they couldn’tlive with out, they said a constant supply(连续供应) of coffee, the ability to nap(小睡,打盹儿), and being able to put on an effectiveangry voice. Other lifesavers(救星) were wine, babysitters(临时照看小孩者) or family help, Netflix, wet wipes(湿巾), drive-through(免下车的) meals, iPads, toys, and healthy snacks(小吃;快餐).
