London has been voted the most desirable city for overseas workers, beating New York, Berlin and Barcelona, according to the latest study by the Boston Consulting Group and totaljobs.com. The UK overall, however, has dropped three places in the country rankings over concerns about the cross-border movement of workers following Brexit. 
根据波士顿咨询公司和totaljobs网站进行的最新研究，伦敦击败纽约、柏林、巴塞罗那，获评海外员工最向往的城市。然而，由于人们对脱欧后员工跨境流动方面的担忧，英国的整体排名下降了三位。

The study also found that the number of British workers willing to seek employment overseas has soared to more than 60% - the largest increase in any country. The US, Germany, Canada and Australia all rank higher than Britain in terms of attractiveness to overseas workers after the Brexit vote. 
研究还发现，英国员工寻求海外就业机会的意愿飙升逾60%，增幅比任何国家都高。进行脱欧公投以后，美国、德国、加拿大、澳大利亚在对海外员工吸引力方面的排名均比英国要高。

The report said the decline in the UK's popularity was particularly apparent for residents of European countries, the UAE and China.

The inconsistent way in which clothes shops adopt their own rules on sizing has meant years of fitting room frustrations. Many women have felt the irritation at finding they were a size 12 dress in one shop – but a 16 in another. 

多年来，不同服装品牌尺码不一让试衣服的顾客很抓狂。许多女性都有过这种烦心的经历：在一家店合身的衣服尺码是12码，而在另一家店却成了16码。

Avoiding a fashion fail often meant taking several sizes in to the changing room just to make sure. Soon there could be an end to the meltdowns, however, after major chains agreed to rip up their sizing rules and develop a standard measurement system. 

为了防止衣服不合身，有些人经常带好几个尺码的衣服进试衣间。不过，很快他们就无需面对这种难局，因为多家服装零售巨头一致决定废除各自的尺码标准，共同制定一个标准尺码体系。

Retailers including ASOS, Tesco's F&F range, Next, Monsoon, New Look and River Island are backing a nationwide survey which will take measurements of 30,000 adults to create new universal size templates. Inconsistent sizes have led to huge quantities of clothes bought online being returned.

World's ugliest dog

Zsa Zsa, a 9-year-old English bulldog, was named the winner of the 30th annual World's Ugliest Dog contest Saturday night at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, California. 

一只名叫扎扎的9岁英国牛头犬在第三十届世界最丑狗狗大赛中摘得冠军。大赛于23日晚在加州柏城的索诺马-马林游乐场举办。

According to the winner's owner, a Minnesota woman named Megan Brainard who will receive $1,500 for her dog's win, she found Zsa Zsa on a pet-finding site. Dogs in the annual competition flaunt their imperfections - some have hairless bodies, others have lolling tongues. 

扎扎的主人是来自明尼苏达州的梅根.布蕾纳德女士，她在一家宠物救助网站上发现了扎扎。她将因为扎扎获此殊荣而赢得1500美元的奖金。在历年的最丑狗狗大赛上，狗狗都以缺陷为傲，有的狗狗身体没有毛发，还有的狗狗耷拉着长舌头。

The dogs and their handlers walk down a red carpet. The dogs are evaluated by a panel of judges. The judges say that the contest is an opportunity to show everyone that even ugly animals deserve lots of love and attention.

狗狗和牵狗人一起走红毯，裁判组给它们打分。裁判们表示，大赛借此机会告诉人们，即使是丑陋的动物也值得宠爱和关注。

Kangaroo halts soccer match
澳洲袋鼠乱入当'守门员'

A women's soccer game between Canberra FC and Belconnen United Blue Devils at Deakin, Australia, was delayed for half an hour after a large grey kangaroo hopped onto the field. 
近日，堪培拉足球俱乐部和贝尔康纳蓝色魔鬼联合队在澳大利亚的迪肯举行了一场女子足球赛，不料一只灰色大袋鼠跳进球场，比赛因此被迫暂停半小时。

A clip of the incident shows the marsupial leaping over a fence to get into the pitch during halftime, then setting itself in front of the goal, presumably becoming the first goalie of its kind. 
该事件的一段录像显示，中场休息时这只袋鼠越栏进入球场，然后蹲坐在球门前，大概是同类中第一个当上"守门员"的袋鼠。

It leaves for the car park but returns during the second half of play, scaring away players as it bounds across the field. Officials tried to shoo it away with a ball but the kangaroo simply played around with it, giving it a few kicks and even sent "a good quality pass." (See photo)
