The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be a 32-team tournament as originally planned, FIFA has announced. The world governing body had considered expanding the event to 48 teams, but this has proved impractical. With the event just three years away, Qatari organizers did not feel there was enough time to carry out studies on the logistical impact of an expanded competition. 
国际足联宣布，2022年卡塔尔世界杯将按照原计划由32支球队参加。国际足联曾考虑将世界杯的参赛队伍扩大至48支，事实证明这并不可行。卡塔尔世界杯的组织者认为，距离开赛只有三年时间，已没有足够时间来评估扩大比赛对后勤工作的影响。

The desert state has been preparing for a 32-team tournament, with eight stadia, since 2010. Feasibility studies involving neighboring countries were also carried out but no solutions were found. The 2026 tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico will be the first World Cup for 48 finalists.

自2010年以来，卡塔尔一直都是以8座体育场、32支球队的规格来筹备世界杯的。国际足联还做过让邻国参与进来的可行性研究，但仍未找到解决方案。2026年在美国、加拿大和墨西哥联合举办的世界杯将是第一届有48支队伍参赛的世界杯。

Pattinson will play Batman

He's going from sex symbol to bat symbol. Sources tell "Variety" that Robert Pattinson will play "The Batman" in Matt Reeves' forthcoming superhero film, which hits theaters June 25, 2021. Pre-production on the Warner Bros-DC Comics picture is expected to start this summer.

Waitlist function available

候补购票服务全面推行

Starting from May 22, the waitlist function previously trialed on some rail routes will be available to all passenger trains in China. When the desired train tickets are not available at the ticket booking site and the app of the China Railway Corporation, a person can use the "waiting" function. 

本月22日起，此前在部分铁路线路上试用的候补购票功能将对所有旅客列车开放。旅客在通过中国铁路总公司官方订票网站和APP购票时，如遇所需车次、席别无票，可使用候补购票功能。

When other ticket buyers cancel or change their tickets, the system will allocate the returned tickets to waiting buyers on the list and inform them through short messages, WeChat or mobile app information. 

当其他旅客取消或改签车票时，系统自动将退票分配给进入候补购票名单的旅客，并将购票结果以短信、微信或应用程序推送等形式告知购票人。

They will have to prepay the maximum price for each ticket, and once they have obtained the tickets, the difference from the actual fare will be refunded. If they failed to get tickets, the system will also return their money. The function will end the service at 7 pm at least one day before the train's departure date.

候补购票须预付最高票款，购票成功后，系统会退还差价，如果购票失败，系统会全额退款。候补终止时间不晚于开车前一天的19时。

Tax-free incentive policy

两产业获税收政策扶持

China's integrated circuit design and software enterprises will benefit from a new tax-free incentive policy, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance and State Taxation Administration on Wednesday. 

财政部和税务总局22日发布公告，宣布企业所得税优惠新政，为集成电路设计和软件产业的相关企业带来利好。

Companies that meet certain requirements will be exempt from income tax in the first and second profit-making years and allowed a 50% reduction from the third to fifth years until expiry of the preferential period, which shall start from the first profit-making year prior to December 31, 2018.

公告明确，符合条件的集成电路设计企业和软件企业，在2018年12月31日前自获利年度起计算优惠期，第一年至第二年免征企业所得税，第三年至第五年按照法定税率减半征收企业所得税，并享受至期满为止。
