影视圈'阴阳合同'引关注

The Chinese tax authority has started investigations on tax evasion practices in the film and television industry. Any illegal activities uncovered will be punished in line with the law, the State Administration of Taxation said in a statement released on Sunday. 

国家税务总局3日发布声明称，税务部门已就影视圈逃税问题展开调查，如发现任何违法行为，将严格依法处理。

The statement is in response to recent heated online discussions that Fan Bingbing, a famous Chinese actress, might have evaded paying tax through only reporting a fraction of her total income as stated on a payment contract. 

该声明是对近日在网上引发热议的"国内著名女演员范冰冰或通过签订阴阳合同逃税"一事的回应。

Earlier, Cui Yongyuan, a famous cultural critic and former CCTV anchor, posted on his Weibo account photos of the contract for a four-day shoot involving Fan. 

著名文化评论人士、前央视主持人崔永元早先在其微博上传了"范冰冰4天片酬合同"的照片。

The remaining part of her income, which is larger than the reported amount, however, was paid through separate privately-signed agreements, a way to avoid tax payment based on much higher income, according to the online accusations.

崔永元在网上指控称，该片酬合同中涉及的只是其总收入的小部分，其余大部分片酬则是通过私下签订的合同支付，从而达到逃税的目的。

Math predicts World Cup

Brazil and Germany are neck-and-neck favorites to win the 2018 World Cup, according to the calculations by Austrian mathematicians. 

根据奥地利数学家的估算，巴西和德国的2018年世界杯夺冠概率不分轩轾。

After doing a set of millions of calculations based on hundreds of betting odds, the experts said Brazil have a 16.6% probability of winning the title, defending world champions Germany are close behind with a 15.8% chance. 

这些专家根据数百次投注赔率做了数百万次的计算后表示，巴西夺冠的概率是16.6%，卫冕世界冠军德国紧随其后，夺冠概率为15.8%。

The research team has successfully predicted several tournament outcomes in the past, among them the correct world champions Spain in the 2010 World Cup and three out of four semi-finalists in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. 

该研究团队过去成功预测了好几次比赛结果，其中曾正确预测出2010年世界杯冠军是西班牙队，以及2014年巴西世界杯四支进入半决赛球队中的三支。

Behind the two top favorites Germany and Brazil there were two other teams with a good chance of winning: Spain (12.5%) and France (12.1%). The most likely semi-final pairings was therefore Brazil vs. France at 9.4% and Germany vs. Spain at 9.2%.

除了巴西和德国两个最有胜算的国家外，西班牙(夺冠概率12.5%)和法国(12.1%)也颇有夺冠的希望。最有可能出现的半决赛对阵局势是：巴西对法国(9.4%的概率)，德国对西班牙(9.2%的概率)。

Couple told to rename baby

意夫妇被责令为娃改名

A couple in Milan, Italy, who had chosen to name their baby daughter "Blu", was recently ordered by a court to change the name to something more suitable for a girl. 

意大利米兰一对夫妇给女儿起名为"布卢(Blu)"，近日法院责令这对夫妇给孩子换一个更适合女孩的名字。

According to a presidential decree issued in the year 2000, "the name given to a child must correspond to their sex" and Italian authorities apparently don't consider "Blu" to be a suitable name for a girl. 

按照意大利2000年颁布的一项总统令，父母给孩子取名"必须符合其性别"。相关部门显然认为"布卢"这个名字不适合女孩。

Despite having already registered the 18-month-old child's name on her birth certificate and passport, the parents were summoned to appear in court to choose a more feminine name or the court will decide it for them.

孩子现在18个月大，父母已用"布卢"为她办理了出生证和护照，尽管如此，法院还是传唤这对父母到庭，要求他们给孩子另取一个更为女性化的名字，否则法院会给娃指定一个名字。

Lowest peak set for climbers

日本最矮山峰开山迎客

A ceremony was held Friday to celebrate the first day of the climbing season for a 6.1-meter peak in western Japan. Mt Bentenyama in Tokushima city is known as the lowest natural mountain in the country and the local preservation association annually holds an opening ceremony on June 1, the date matching its height.

日本西部一个6.1米的山峰于6月1日举行庆典，庆祝其登山季的伊始。弁天山位于德岛市，以"日本海拔最低的自然形成山"著称，当地的保存会在每年的6月1日举行开山仪式，这一日期与它的高度相符。

Although there are lower mountains such as the 3-meter-high Mt Hiyori in Sendai city or 4.5-meter-high Mt Tempozan in Osaka, these peaks were artificially formed, according to the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan. 

据日本国土地理院介绍，尽管日本还有比这更矮的山峰，像仙台市3米高的日和山与大阪市4.5米高的天保山，但这两座山峰都是人造的。

About 10,000 people successfully climb the mountain every year, according to the association. "This mountain is so safe that no one has gone missing. Let's pray that no accidents occur," Shakudo Yamashita, the director of the association, said in the ceremony. 

据保存会介绍，每年约有1万游客成功"登顶"弁天山。保存会理事长山下释道在仪式上表示，弁天山很安全，从来没有人失踪，举行仪式是为了祈求山难事故不再发生。
