Richard Tams is Executive Vice-President China for British
Airways (BA). In today's feature about the importance of the Chinese market for
the airline, Richard starts by discussing Chinese tourism to the UK. The recent
relaxing of British visa policy will encourage greater visitor traffic along
with the very positive views on the country held by many Chinese.
Since the early 2000s the airline has noticed a change in the
market with the majority of travellers now Chinese. This upward move was helped
both by the Beijing Olympics and Shanghai EXPO 2010 alongside the growing
economy.
