NASA's upcoming Mars 2020 rover is set to launch on its expedition to the red planet next year, and now the space agency is giving you the opportunity to put your name on the spacecraft. If you are interested, simply fill out the online form on NASA's website before Sept 30, and you will receive a souvenir "boarding pass to Mars." 
美国航空航天局(NASA)即将下线的火星2020探测车将于明年开启火星之旅，现在NASA向人们提供机会，可将自己的名字刻在这架航天器上。对此感兴趣的人只需于9月30日前，在NASA网站上填写在线表格，即可收到一张"火星登机牌"作为纪念品。

Once all the names have been submitted, NASA will send them to the Microdevices Laboratory at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. There, scientists will use a beam of electrons to etch them onto a silicon chip in teeny-tiny text smaller than one-thousandth the width of a human hair.

Once the etching is done, the chip will be fitted to the rover underneath a glass cover. The Mars 2020 mission is scheduled to launch as early as July 2020, and it is expected to reach the red planet in February 2021.

Armed robberies have become so common in the capital of Mexico that people have started buying fake smartphones to hand over to trigger-happy criminals who would rather shoot them than leave empty-handed. Smartphone "dummies" reportedly cost between 300 and 500 Mexican pesos and are seemingly perfect replicas of the originals. 
在墨西哥首都墨西哥城，持械抢劫已变得极为普遍，以至于人们开始购买假智能手机应付以开枪为乐的犯罪分子，这些犯罪分子为了不空手而归不惜开枪杀人。据报道，仿真智能手机的成本为300-500墨西哥比索(约合110-180元人民币)，且看上去和真手机一模一样。

They feature the same design and branding of popular smartphone models like iPhone and Samsung Galaxy, as well as a display that mimics a startup screen. On the inside, they have a large piece of metal meant to give them the weight of a real smartphone.

These dummies have been around for over a decade, but until a couple of years ago they were only used in the exhibition cases of smartphone shops. Nowadays, with muggings so frequent in Mexico City, people are buying them to cut their losses, but also protect their valuable data.

China's new 1st-tier cities

Southwestern metropolis Chengdu topped a list of new first-tier cities in 2019, according to a ranking published by the China Business Network, China's leading financial media group. Other cities that made it on the list are Hangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan, Xi'an, Suzhou, Tianjin, Nanjing, Changsha, Zhengzhou, Dongguan, Qingdao, Shenyang, Ningbo and Kunming. 
我国领先财经媒体集团第一财经近日发布2019新一线城市排名，位于西南地区的成都位居榜首。其他上榜城市有杭州、重庆、武汉、西安、苏州、天津、南京、长沙、郑州、东莞、青岛、沈阳、宁波、昆明。

Researchers evaluated 337 cities on five aspects - commercial resources, transportation convenience, resident activity, variety of lifestyle and adaptability for the future. Among the 15 new first-tier cities, 10 are from the south while five are from the north. Kunming, newcomer to the list, saw significant improvement on talent appeal.
研究人员按照商业资源集聚度、城市枢纽性、城市人活跃度、生活方式多样性和未来可塑性五个维度评估了337座城市。15座新一线城市中有10座位于我国南方，5座位于北方。此次新入榜的昆明在人才吸引力方面提升显著。

Climbers die on Qomolangma
珠峰'交通拥堵'14人丧生

14 mountaineers have died in Nepal's Himalayan mountains this spring season, Nepal's Department of Tourism said. Expedition organizing companies said that huge traffic jam on the way to top of the Mt Qomolangma may have contributed to death of some climbers as they were exhausted waiting for their turn in challenging the environment. 
尼泊尔旅游部表示，今年春季，有14名登山客死于尼泊尔境内的喜马拉雅山脉。探险公司称，通向珠穆朗玛峰峰顶的山脊上出现的"拥堵路况"可能是导致部分登山者丧生的原因，因为等候登顶的时间过长，他们的体力耗尽。

As many as 381 climbers received climbing permits from Nepal's Tourism Department this spring season to climb the mountain. Around 200 climbers reached the top of the mountain on Wednesday alone. 
今年春季，多达381名登山者获得尼泊尔旅游部颁发的攀登珠峰许可，仅22日一天就有约200人登顶。

Nepal's tourism authority has denied accusations that the rise in Mt Qomolangma deaths is solely due to overcrowding. The department's director general Dandu Raj Ghimire said other factors including adverse weather conditions hmad also contributed.
对于珠峰死亡人数上升完全是因为过度拥挤的指责，尼泊尔旅游局予以否认。局长丹杜•拉吉•吉米尔表示，天气条件恶劣等其他因素也是导致死亡人数增加的原因。
