verbal phrases (动词或者分词短语)例子：
1， Continued through 延伸到了……这个趋势延伸到了1997年 The trend continued through 1997.
2, Followed by 接下来是……总的来说,美国的离婚率最高,接着是欧洲,最后是澳大利亚.In a word, America has the highest rate of divorce, followed by Europe and finally Australia.
3, Spare no efforts in 不遗余力……我方将不遗余力为贵公司效劳. we spare no efforts in endeavoring to be of service to you.

infinitive （动词不定式短语）例子：
1, To be ironed out 有待解决……整个系统还是很高效的,但是仍然存在一些棘手的问题有待解决. Overall , the system proved effective, though there remain several teething problems to be ironed out.
2, to see…了解看看and to check去检查… A Member of staff monitored the warehouse on foot to see whether staffing was adequate and to check if any problems arose. 一位员工亲自去仓库，去看睥人员是否充足和检查是否有任何问题出现。

noun phrases（名词短语）例子：
1， Female smokers saw the opposite trend.
2， The general /main trend is that…
3， The company has created an organizational pattern that supports great freedom of action for individuals and teams. They have tied it together with a minimum hierarchy. 这家公司创造了一种组织形式，给了个人和组织很大我自由。它们用最小的层级绑在一起。

appositive phrases（同位语短语）例子

1， So now I am Jane, a super busy lawyer with my very own assistant…the only people who really know what’s going on with me are my friend , Stacy and my guardian angel Fred.
2， The Danish electronics manufacturer, Oticon , is the leader in the move towards the paperless office. 一家丹麦的电器制造商，是无纸化办公潮流的领导者。

adjective phrases（形容词短语/形容词的复合结构）例子
1, The digital camera should be light, compact, and easy to use.
2, we are hopeless at driving a hard bargain.
3, A&A would not be suitable for large orders that require quick delivery.

prepositional phrases（介词短语）例子
1, A new job is largely a step into the unknown.
2, Don’t be talked below your bottom line and end up working for nothing.
3, I’d the honored to meet Mr. Smith from 11:00am to 11:30am on 10th June 2011 at my office.
