Good morning.
A common problem for many Chinese students is learning past tense verbs. For example, we say, 'I will run to the store.' (It means, 'I will go to the store') In the past tense, we say, Yesterday, I ran to the store. "If someone says," How do you get to school every day? "The student might answer," I walk to school every day. "In the past tense, we say," Yesterday, I "We know that it was yesterday, but in English, you must also make the verb past tense.
Words
Run
Ran
Walk
walked
Notice that 'ran' is what we call an 'irregular verb.' It is not a normal verb. A normal verb is a verb that you can add 'ed' on the end. English has many irregular verbs. You need to learn them In order to sound like a native English speaker.
Practice
Everyday, I run to the store to buy groceries.
Last week, I ran to the store to buy groceries.
Next week, I will run to the store to buy groceries.
Everyday, I walk to school.
Last week, I walked to school.
Next week, I will walk to school.
These are only two verbs in their present and past tense. There are many more to learn. But, for today, just learn these. They are very common and will be quite useful to you.
That's all for today.
Goodbye for now.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
