梵高诞辰日其名画遭窃

A painting by Vincent Van Gogh has been stolen after burglars broke into a Dutch museum that is closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

窃贼闯入荷兰一家因新冠疫情闭馆的博物馆，盗走了一幅文森特•梵高的画作。

Van Gogh's "The Parsonage Garden at Nuenen in Spring," painted in 1884, was taken from the Singer Laren Museum, which lies just outside Amsterdam, in the early hours of Monday morning. 

当地时间30日凌晨，梵高创作于1884年的画作《纽南春天里的牧师花园》在阿姆斯特丹郊外的辛格•拉伦博物馆被盗。

The painting was stolen on what would have been the Dutch master's 167th birthday. The painting has now been added to Interpol's list of stolen artworks, police said. The authorities have so far not issued a statement about how much the artwork might be worth. The painting was on loan from the Groninger Museum.

The burglars broke into the museum about 3:15 am local time, according to police. Images from the scene of the burglary show that the glass doors at the front of the museum were smashed during the break-in. The police are appealing for information from the public to assist their investigation. 

警方称，盗贼于当地时间凌晨3点15分左右强行闯入博物馆。盗窃现场的图像显示，博物馆前面的玻璃门在盗贼闯入时被打碎。警方呼吁民众提供线索协助调查。

China will increase screening of asymptomatic patients of COVID-19 and expand testing to close contacts of infected patients, in an effort to prevent a possible domestic resurge of the outbreak, according to a decision made at a meeting led by Premier Li Keqiang on Monday. 

国务院总理李克强30日主持召开中央应对新冠肺炎疫情工作领导小组会议。会议指出，为防止可能出现的国内疫情反弹，要加大无症状感染者筛查力度，将检测范围进一步扩大至感染病例的密切接触者。

The meeting of the leading group of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on coping with the novel coronavirus pneumonia underlined the importance of prioritizing the monitoring, tracking, isolation and treatment of asymptomatic cases, to consolidate the country's epidemic containment efforts. Asymptomatic COVID-19 patients refer to those who do not show any symptoms, including fever and cough, but their tests for the novel coronavirus are positive. The infection rate is usually very high for those who have close contacts with asymptomatic novel coronavirus carriers.

会议强调，要巩固疫情防控成果，突出做好无症状感染者监测、追踪、隔离和治疗非常重要。新冠肺炎无症状感染者指没有发烧和咳嗽等症状，但是新冠病毒检测呈阳性的人。一般来说，无症状感染者对与其密切接触的人的传染率很高。

3/ US could face millions of cases

The coronavirus pandemic could kill up to 200,000 Americans and millions more could be infected, the US government's leading expert warned. Dr Anthony Fauci, the face of the Trump administration's coronavirus task force, made the prediction on Sunday.

美国政府首席专家警告说，新冠肺炎疫情可能导致多达20万美国人死亡，数百万人感染。特朗普政府新冠肺炎特别工作组首席专家安东尼•福奇博士在29日做出了这一预测。

"Looking at what we're seeing now, I would say between 100,000 and 200,000 deaths," he told CNN. But he quickly urged caution. "It's such a moving target," he said. Fauci added that the US, which now has the most recorded cases of the virus in the world, was the "focus" of the global outbreak.

东京奥运延期日程敲定

The Tokyo Olympic Games has been rescheduled to July 23 to Aug 8, 2021, the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee announced on Monday. The Paralympic Games will be held from Aug 24 to Sept 5 next year. 

东京奥组委30日宣布，东京奥运会将改在2021年7月23日至8月8日举行；残奥会将于同年的8月24日至9月5日举行。

The IOC also announced the date in a statement on its official website, saying it is a decision jointly made by IOC, the IPC, the Tokyo organizing committee, and the Tokyo metropolitan government, and the government of Japan, after talks via telephone conference earlier on Monday. 

国际奥委会也在官网上发布的一则声明中公布了该日期，并表示这是国际奥委会、国际残奥会、东京奥组委、东京都政府以及日本政府在30日通过电话会议进行商讨后共同决定的。

Tokyo 2020 president Yoshiro Mori told a news conference that the decision is important for relaunching the Games. "It is essential to prepare for the games," he said. "It will accelerate our progress." He said that they had also talked about the possibility of hosting the Games in the spring but finally decided to choose summer. "We thought it will take time to hold qualifications and for the athletes to prepare for them," Mori said.
