Chapter 18

The little prince crossed the desert and met with only one flower.

小王子穿过沙漠。他只遇见了一朵花。

It was a flower with three petals, a flower of no account at all.

那是一朵有着三枚花瓣的花，一朵根本不重要的花。

"Good morning," said the little prince.

“早上好。”小王子说。

"Good morning," said the flower.

“早上好。”花说。

"Where are the men"? the little prince asked, politely.

“人在什么地方？”小王子有礼貌地问道。

The flower had once seen a caravan passing.

花曾经看见一支商队走过。

"Men"? she echoed. "I think there are six or seven of them in existence.

“人吗？”她附和道，我想大约存在六个或者七个人。

I saw them, several years ago. But one never knows where to find them.

几年前，我瞅见过他们。可是，从来不知道到什么地方去找他们。

The wind blows them away. They have no roots, and that makes their life very difficult".

风把他们吹跑了。他们没有根，那让他们的生活很困难。”

"Goodbye," said the little prince.

“再见了。”小王子说。

"Goodbye," said the flower.

“再见。”花说。
