[Japanese Gov't Considering Exempting Overseas Spectators from the 14-day Isolation]
Spain's Health Ministry has announced that starting tomorrow, travelers to Spain from high-risk areas will be required to submit proof of a negative result on a nucleic acid test within 72 hours prior to their arrival.
In Asia, Mongolia entered a state of public disaster preparedness and imposed a five-day, nationwide, 24-hour lockdown starting today, to stem the spread of the pandemic. The lockdown follows yesterday's confirmation of the first locally transmitted case of COVID-19 in the country's capital city of Ulan Bator. In Japan, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach will visit Tokyo on Sunday to inspect the venues for the 2020 Olympic Games. He said that he hoped his visit will increase people's confidence in the safe organization of the event. Japanese media have reported that the government is considering exempting overseas spectators from the 14-day isolation, and allowing them to use public transportation.
