Ned: I'm sorry that I'm late.
Kelly: Where were you? I've been waiting for almost an hour.
Ned: I was at a museum. I guess l just lost track of the time. A thousand pardons.
Kelly: A museum? Weren't you supposed to play basketball this morning?
Ned: Yes, but I decided to break out of my routine and be more spontaneous.
Kelly: Really? That's fantastic. I'm very happy for you. (Looking at her watch) Hey, we'd better order, otherwise, we'll miss the concert. I hope you got good tickets.
Ned: Uh, I'm afraid that I didn't buy the tickets.
Kelly: What?! Why? We made plans last week. I was really looking forward to it!
Ned: I guess I just forgot. Anyway, it might be more fun to decide what we want to do last minute.
Kelly: Ned, being spontaneous doesn't mean you shouldn't plan ahead. Sorry, but that was inconsiderate of you.
Ned: But you said that I was boring.
Kelly: Are you still thinking about that? I didn't mean it, and I regret having hurt your feelings. In fact, I like being able to depend on you.
Ned: Well, I suppose I overreacted. I apologize for not getting the concert tickets.
Kelly: It's OK. Hey, maybe they're still on sale. Let's go to the box office after lunch and see.
