Dialog A: Report the Condition of the Ship

Ship owner: Hello, Captain Zhang. What is the ship condition now?
船东： 你好，张船长，船舶现在状况如何？
Zhang: Hello, Mr. Smith. I have e-mailed you on condition of the vessel yesterday. Sorry to say that the ship is getting worse. It can’t sail until it is repaired.
张： 你好，史密斯先生，昨天我已经给您发了有关船舶状况的邮件，十分抱歉地说船舶状况每况愈下，不修理是不能开航了。
Ship owner: I understand. I hope that you can arrange onboard maintenance as much as possible.
船东： 我知道了，我希望你尽可能安排船上修理。
Zhang: Mr. Smith, I have been arranging maintenance and repair according to your requirement. However, we can’t deal with the main engine.
张： 史密斯先生，我根据你的要求正在维修保养工作，然而我们不能解决主机问题。
Ship owner: What is the problem?
船东： 出了什么问题了？
Zhang: It often shuts down. I was wondering when you will arrange dock repair.
张： 经常跳停，我想知道你什么时候安排修理？
Ship owner: Next month, you will sail to Hong Kong. You will receive instructions.

Dialog B: Report the Victual Condition
对话2： 报告食物状况
Captain: Dear Mr. Anderson. I’d like to report the victual condition on board. Recently, we often sail at European waters. We replenish provisions at the European countries. However, prices of provisions are always at high standard, you know. The fees on victual are short. I hope that you can consider the living conditions here.
船长： 安德森先生，我想报告船上食物状况。最近我们经常航行于欧洲水域，我们在欧洲国家上食品，然而此处食品价格十分昂贵，食品费用不够，我希望您考虑一下此处的生活状况。
Boss: OK, how much will you suggest? Mr. Wang.

Captain: Everyday, 3 dollars increased for each crew will be fine.

Boss: OK, I suppose that it will be OK. What are other conditions?

Captain: I suggest buying a bigger refrigerator for the galley and some cook utensils. I think it will cost 10000 US dollars. Is that OK?

Boss: Permitted. I hope that it will be helpful for all your crewmembers.

Dialog C: Report Personnel on Board

Captain: Mr. Peter. I am afraid that I have to resign……

Boss: What are the problems?

Captain: The Chief Engineer is not responsible for his job. His English is not good. He always drinks alcohol during daytime. Second Officer has not corrected charts for long time. I criticized him but he said he was the relative of Mr. Brown. Third Officer is lazy. He never checks lifeboats and life-rafts. He always complains. I lost my confidence to be the captain of this group now.
船长： 轮机长对工作不负责，英语不好，白天酗酒，二副很长时间没有改正海图，我批评他，他说他是布朗先生的亲戚，三副很懒惰，从来就不检查救生艇和救生筏，总是抱怨，我失去了做好他们船长的信心。
Boss: Come on. I will arrange change of crew as soon as possible. You can dismiss Chief Engineer-Eric Williams, Second Officer, John Smith and Third Officer, Henry Bush. I will arrange relieving officers to handover at the next port.
