可以用whose代替定语从句中的his/her/their等物主代词，举个例子：
We helped some people-their car had broken down
那么这句话我们可以把它变成：
We helped some people whose car had broken down.
有人的车坏了，我们帮助了他们。
whose大多用来修饰人，我们可以说：
A widow is a woman whose husband is dead.
寡妇是指丈夫过世了的女人。
What’s the name of the man whose car you borrowed?
你借车的那个男的叫什么名字？
我们来比较一下who和whose：
I met a man who knows you.
我遇见了个人，他认识你。这里的who指的是the man，he knows you。
I met a man whose sister knows you.
我遇见了个人，他姐姐认识你。这里的whose指的是his，his sister knows you。
whom可以代替who，充当定语从句中的宾语，举个例子：
Marco is a person whom I admire very much.
马克是我非常欣赏的一个人。
whom也可以和介词连用（to whom/for whom/with whom等）
I like the people with whom I work.
我喜欢和我一起共事的人。
whom这个词比较正式，who和that更常见，或者作为宾语时直接省略掉。（这个我们上期讲过）
where可以在定语从句中表示地点，举个例子：
the restaurant-we had lunch there-it was near the airport
那么这句话我们可以说：
The restaurant where we had lunch was near the airport.
我们吃午饭的那个餐厅在机场旁边。
再举个例子：
I would like to live in a place where there’s plenty of sunshine.
我想住在充满阳光的地方。
可以说the day/the year/the time等，后面跟something happens，例如：
I can’t meet you on Friday. That’s the day (that) I’m going away.
星期五我没法跟你见面，那天我就要走了。
The last time I saw Jill,she looked great.
上次我见到吉尔，她看起来很不错。
我们还可以说the reason后面跟something happens或者why something happens：
The reason I’m phoning is to ask your advice.
或者the reason why I'm phoning is to ask your advice.
我给你打电话是想问问你的意见。
用where引导的定语从句，完成下列句子：
1.You grew up in a small town. You went back there recently. You tell someone this.
例如：I recently went back to the small town where I grew up.
2.You’re thirsty and you want a drink. You ask a friend where you can get some water.
3.You work in a factory. The factory is going to close down next month. You tell a friend.
4.Sue is staying at a hotel. You want to know the name of the hotel. You ask a friend.
