Under the cartoon is the caption: 'What's left after Our Journey.'
The picture, simple as it seems, transmits a thought-provoking message that everyone is responsible for protecting our beautiful planet because it is the homeland to all of us. Sadly, the reality is something else. Myriads of people, just like the boys in the cartoon, treat our Mother Nature as a dumping ground. This is partly due to the fact that modern people have become wealthy and at the same time increasingly selfish, but also because some industries and businesses pursue high-speed growth at the cost of environment. If this trend continues, chances are high that we will be punished by the Earth.
Several measures, to sum up, can be taken to stop this scenario from happening. Firstly, social media should play a bigger part in promoting the awareness of environmental protection. Besides, it is about time that following the authorities concerned took tough action over pollution.
