It was a Friday afternoon.
Once Harry walked out of the
school gates, he went to buy a chicken hamburger as he felt a little hungry.

On his way home, Harry noticed that a dog was searching for food in a small rubbish bin(垃圾箱). When Harry passed by,the dog looked up and eyed Harry's burger. “Rick! Rick! Come here!” said a voice. Harry turned around to see a shabbily(衣衫褴褛地)dressed old man. The dog ran toward the old man quickly. Holding a white box, the old man opened it to show his half-eaten rice. He lowered the box onto the ground and left it open for the dog to eat.

Harry watched as the old man walked slowly to a pushcart(手推车) full of cardboard boxes. As the old man left, Harry wondered
if he could do something for them. The old man looked poor but was generous(慷慨的)enough to feed the dog.

The next morning, Harry bought a pancake for the old man. He also bought some dog food for the dog."Thank you,little boy. You are warm-hearted ,and you will lead a happy life," the old man said.

Harry felt very satisfied, knowing that he was able to give without asking for anything but their happiness in return.
