【明星说英语】窦靖童全英文接受外媒采访

Interviewer: That was the 《blue flamingo》，looks like the last song on your debut album .I see that you're coming to us from Beijing, are you still based there?
刚才那首是你首张专辑里的最后一首歌对吧。你是从北京飞来的，现在常驻北京吗？


Leah Dou：Yeah, I'm running between beijing and HK.
是的，常在北京和香港之间往返。


Interviewer: Cool. Obviously your english is perfect.When you were just starting out, what made you decide to stick with writing and singing in English?
最开始写歌的时候，为什么坚持用英语写歌/唱歌呢？


Leah Dou：When I first started writing music, I was living in the state of… I was studying in Michigan. So it was only normal to be writing in English cause you know, I was in an English-speaking environment. All my thoughts were processed in English, so that just came naturally.
最开始写歌的时候，我当时住在密歇根州，在那里学习。所以用英语写歌是一件很正常的事，因为我在一个说英语的环境中。我所有的思想都是用英语来处理的，所以一切都很自然。


But then, when I went back to China, I figured that because you know the Chinese language, it has such an incredibly long history. Each character has, the meaning behind it is always really rich.
后来我回到了中国，我发现中文拥有非常悠久的历史。每个字背后的意思都非常丰富。


It's hard to write when you want to be direct about something. Because in English language you can kind of be direct. Yeah, I just find it difficult to write in Mandarin. I will, someday. English is what I'm writing with for now.
当你想直接地进行表达时，用中文很难，英语却很直接。所以用中文写歌对我来说有点困难。未来我会的，不过现在我还是在用英文写。


Interviewer: That makes all the sense. But will you tell us a little about the next song you're gonna do?

Leah Dou：This next  song is called and it's also a song I wrote fair quickly when I was studying in Michigan. And it was my favorite song at that time.
这是我在密歇根念书时写的，很快就写出来了，也是当时我最爱的一首。
