Today was the school food festival. I got up early and made a cake for my son to take to school. Unfortunately, his classmates didn't like it much. They found it bland and too mild.
By lunchtime, most of the cake was brought back home. I added extra sugar when making it, but it still lacked sweetness. This made me realize how much sugar we usually consume.
Over time, excessive sugar intake can decrease the body's ability to metabolize sugar, leading to diabetes.
Despite the taste, I thought the texture of the cake was okay, but it could have been fluffier. I need to work on that.
Could you share with me your process for making a cake at home?
Firstly, gather the ingredients and cooking tools: 5 eggs, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1 box of 250ml whole milk, and 200g self-rising flour. You'll only need a rice cooker and a whisk.
Secondly, separate the egg whites and yolks, mix the yolks with milk and flour.
Thirdly, whisk the sugar and the egg whites until fluffy.
Lastly, mix the beaten egg whites with the milk-flour mixture, pour it into the oiled rice cooker pot, select the rice cooker and cake settings, and cook for 40 minutes before enjoying.
