Hi, I'm Evelyn! 你好呀，我是小田园。Today we are going to talk about: water. Water is the most important thing to keep organisms alive, nothing can live without water, include you and me. Let't talk about some interesting facts about them.今天我们要讲讲有关水的故事。水是世界上最重要的东西之一，没有水，就没有生物能存活下来，包括你和我。如果你好奇更多有关水的小知识，那就让我们开始吧。

Did you observe some waterdrops before? It is not hard to found that most of them are nearly round. Do you know why are waterdrops round? This is because of the surface tension. Small drops of water are almost perfectly round, they are pulled into this shape by surface tension. Bigger drops spread out, though – they are too heavy for surface tension to work so well.

Beside to water drops, you must know another kind of round water, that are bubbles! Did you ever think about, why does soap make bubbles? Adding soap to water weakens the pull of the surface tension, and makes the surface of the water much stretchier. It spreads out enough for you to blow air inside – it's a bit like blowing up balloons with water.

Surface tension水面张力surface是表面的意思，tension是拉伸，张力的意思。把它们连起来，一般就是水面张力的意思。

除了水珠，你还知道哪一种水的形态是圆形的吗？没错，那就是泡泡！说到底，到底为什么肥皂能吹出泡泡呢？因为啊，把肥皂加到水里使得水的表面张力变得更大了。直到水已经扩散到你可以把空气裹进去，这有点儿像你用水吹起来了一个气球。
