Most human suffering occurs because we don’tknow how to let go. We hold on to unpleasant thoughts and experiences when weshould let them pass. For example, when someone says something that makes usangry, we try to solve the problem by replaying the episode that triggered theemotion over and over, which makes the situation even worse. What we need to dois learn to let go and allow the bad feelings to dissipate naturally, becauseeventually they will.
Don’t get dragged down by your unpleasantexperiences. Learn to loosen your clutch on unhealthy thoughts. Remember, youcan’t enjoy today if you’re thinking about all the bad things that happened toyou yesterday.
