Long ago, before our time, there was a landcalled Kumandra, where humans lived alongsidewater dragons. The dragons brought water, rain,and peace to the land to help it flourish. And thehumans lived in harmony, caring for one another.Life in Kumandra was paradise.

很久以前，在我们的时代到来之前，有一片土地叫作龙佑之 邦。在那里，人类与水龙生活在一起。龙族为大地带来了水源、 降雨及和平，助它繁荣昌盛;人类则和睦相处，彼此关心。龙佑 之邦的生活如同天堂。

But then the Druun came, spreading likewildfire to consume life. Whoever they touched turned to stone. A mindless virus, the Druun cared for nothing. Their only goal was to spread and multiply. 

然而后来黑魔来了，它们像野火一样蔓延，吞噬着生命。被 它们碰到的生物，不管是谁，都会化为磐石。它们是毫无心智的 病毒，不在乎任何事物，唯一的目标便是扩散和繁衍。

Dragons valiantly fought the Druun, battling to save humanity, but it wasn’t enough. One by one, the great and mighty dragons were turned to stone.

Until there was only one left.

龙族勇敢地与黑魔战斗，救助人类，但这远远不够。高大强 壮的巨龙一条接一条化为磐石。

直到只剩最后一条。

When all seemed lost, Sisudatu, the last dragon, summoned every bit of her magic andpower, and placed it in a gem. Then she climbed tothe highest point in Kumandra and brought forth a great explosion!

眼看要失去一切之际，最后一条神龙希苏调集了自己所有的 魔法和力量，将其置于一块宝石之中。然后她攀爬到龙佑之邦的 最高处，引发了一场大爆炸!

When the dust cleared, the Druun were gone —and so was Sisudatu.

这场战斗尘埃落定，黑魔消失了，而神龙希苏也不见了。

The humans who had been turned to stone came back to life. But the dragons did not. And all that remained of Sisu was the glowing blue DragonGem — the last remnant of dragon magic.

Without the dragons, peace and harmony disappeared. Kumandra split into five enemy lands —Tail, Spine, Talon, Fang, and Heart — that fought to possess the Dragon Gem. It had to be hidden.

之前化为磐石的人类恢复了生命，但龙却没有。希苏留下的 一切，就只有那块闪闪发光的蓝色神龙宝石— 神龙魔法的最后遗迹。 失去了龙，大地的平静与和谐也消失了。龙佑之邦分裂成了五个敌对的地区— 龙尾滩、龙脊山、龙爪湾、龙牙谷和龙心城。 他们为拥有神龙宝石而互相战斗，必须要隐藏宝石。

The Dragon Gem now resides in a secret chamberin Heart, guarded by the warrior Chief Benja, the baddest blade in all the lands. No one has evergotten near the Gem...until now.

如今神龙宝石安置在龙心城一个密室中，由五地最强剑客蓬加大族长守护。没有人曾接近过宝石......直到现在。

-flourish v. 繁荣、兴旺

To flourish means to develop really quickly or to be very successful. 

The country is flourishing. 这个国家正在欣欣向荣的发展。

The company is flourishing. 公司正在欣欣向荣的发展。

He’s flourishing. 他很健康，在茁壮成长。

flourish和flower就是来自同一个词源，所以flourish的本意，就是“开花”。

-consume v. 吞噬；消费；吃、喝

吞噬，对应到的是consume.

Coffee is widely consumed now in China. 现在在中国，饮用咖啡非常普遍。（相对正式）

The house is consumed by a big fire. 房子被大火吞噬了。

-summon v. 召集，召唤

summon a meeting 召集大家开会 

summon his soldiers 召唤士兵 

summon our own energy and courage 鼓起精力和勇气

造句：我非常努力的起了床。

I summoned every bit of my courage to get out of my bed. 

-split into 分裂成……

We split into 2 groups. 我们被分成了2个小组。

We split the money into 4 shares. 我们把钱分成了4份。

-reside in 在……，在于……

reside的本意是居住：

She resides in London. = She lives in London. 

I reside in Beijing, but I also spend a lot of time in Shanghai. 我大部分时间是居住在北京，但也常常在上海工作。

引申义：表示“存在”“在于”或者”属于“

Power resides where men believe it resides. 权利存在于人们认为它存在的地方。（《权利的游戏》）

造句：它现在存于国家博物馆里。
It now resides in the National Museum.
