下雪天 The Snowy day

One winter morning, Peter woke up andlooked out the window.
一个冬天的早晨，彼得醒来，望着窗外。
Snow had fallen during the night. Itcovered everything as far as he could see.
昨天夜里下了一场雪。他一眼望去，到处都被雪盖住了。
After breakfast, he put on his snowsuit andran outside.
吃完早餐，他穿上雨衣，跑到屋子外面。
Thesnow was piled up very high along the street to make a path for walking.
路的两旁，雪堆得高高的，只空出一条可以走的路。
Crunch, crunch, crunch, his feet sank intothe snow.
嘎吱，嘎吱，嘎吱，他的脚都陷进雪地里。
He walked with his toes pointing out. Hewalked with his toes pointing in.
他一下子脚趾朝外走，一下子又脚趾朝内走。
Then he dragged his feet slowly to maketracks.
然后他拖着脚慢慢地，在雪地上划线。
And he found something sticking out of thesnow that made a new track.
他发现雪地里露出一样东西，拿它划出了一条新的线。
It was a stick—a stick that was just rightfor smacking the snow-covered tree.
哦，是一根树枝！——树枝正好可以用来拍打树上的雪。
Down fell the snow—plop! –on top of Peter’shead.
雪掉下来——啪！——掉在彼得的头上。
He thought it would be fun to join the bigboys in their snowball fight, but he knew he wasn’t old enough—not yet.
他觉得和大哥哥们打雪仗一定会很好玩，但他知道自己还不够大。
So he made a smiling snowman, and he madeangels.
于是，他做了一个微笑的雪人，又做了一个天使。
He pretended he was a mountain climber.
他假装自己正在爬山。
He climbed up a great big tall mountain of snow and slid all the way down.
他爬上了一座又高又大的雪山——再一路滑到山脚下。
He picked up a handful of snow—and another,and still another.
他抓起了一把雪，一把，再一把。
He packed it round and firm and put thesnowball in his pocket for tomorrow.
他把雪压成圆圆硬硬的雪球，放进口袋里，留着明天再玩。
Then he went into his warm house.
然后他回到温暖的家里。
He told his mother all about his adventureswhile she took off his wet socks.
妈妈帮他脱下湿袜子，他把他做的那些好玩的事儿告诉妈妈。
And he thought and thought and thought aboutthem.
他一直想，一直想着那些好玩的事。
Before he got into bed, he looked in hispocket.
上床前，他摸了一下他的口袋。
His pocket was empty.
口袋里空空的。
The snowball wasn’t there.
雪球不见了。
He felt very sad.
他好伤心。
While he slept, he dreamed that the sun hadmelted all the snow away.
他睡着了，他梦见太阳把所有的雪都融化了。
But when he woke up, his dream was gone.
不过，他一醒来，梦就不见了。
The snow was still everywhere. New snow wasfalling!
到处都是雪，新的雪还不停地下着！
After breakfast, he called to his friend fromacross the hall, and they went out together into the deep, deep snow.
吃完早餐，他去找住在对面的朋友。他们一起跑进深深的雪地里。
