I borrowed my friend Neil's Kindle Paperwhite about a year ago. Well, I say I borrowed it, but he never asked it back. He upgraded to a new one not long after he lent the old one to me. So he sort of just gave it to me as a present.

I never used to be a fan of e-readers, but I changed my mind after I started using Kindle. There are many features that are really handy on this device. First of all, the e-ink technology is brilliant. One of the most important reasons why l don't like reading on digital devices is that my eyes get tired after reading for too long. The Kindle e-reader's display looks just like real paper. I don't feel any difference from it than when I'm reading a real book. Furthermore, I don't have to worry about lighting when I'm reading at night. The screen can be lit in the dark.

Another thing I find really useful with the Kindle is that it's really easy to carry around. The Paperwhite I got from Neil is neither the latest nor the best version, but still, I find it very portable, much more so than real books. This is especially convenient when I'm travelling.

However, the Kindle may imitate and even beat paper books in many ways, I still prefer reading paperback books whenever I can.
