White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Saturday she was booted from a Virginia restaurant because she works for President Donald Trump, becoming the latest administration official to experience a brusque reception in a public setting. 
白宫新闻秘书萨拉•桑德斯23日称，自己在弗吉尼亚州一间餐厅用餐时，被餐厅老板要求离开，理由是她为特朗普总统效力。这是最新一起特朗普政府官员在公开场合受辱的事件。

Sanders tweeted that she was told by the owner of the Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia, she had to "leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left." "I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so," Sanders said in the tweet, which generated 22,000 replies in about an hour.

Pubs in Britain could run dry as the country is hit by the worst shortage of carbon dioxide in decades. World Cup festivities and summer barbecues are set to be hindered. The shortages are understood to have been caused by a longer than usual break in production of ammonia. 

英国遭遇数十年来最严重的二氧化碳短缺，酒吧面临啤酒和碳酸饮料供应不足，世界杯庆祝活动和夏季烧烤季将受到影响。据悉，由于氨气生产歇业较以往时间变长，导致了二氧化碳短缺。

Trade journal Gas World said the UK was hit particularly hard as only one major CO2 plant was operating earlier this week and imports from the continent had been affected by shut-downs in Benelux and France. The shortage appeared likely to continue for the remainder of June at least.

De Beers to sell lab stones

The world's largest diamond miner is doing the unthinkable: Selling stones produced in a laboratory. De Beers launched a new jewelry brand that features synthetic diamonds, a major reversal for a company that implored consumers to stick with "real" stones. 
世界最大钻石开采商正在做一件令人难以想象的事情：出售实验室中制造出来的钻石。戴比尔斯近日发布一个新的珠宝品牌，主打人造钻石。这家公司此前一直恳求消费者坚持购买"真正的"钻石，如今，他们的经营战略出现重大改变。

The brand, called Lightbox, will offer synthetic diamonds at a fraction of the price it charges for stones pulled out of the earth. De Beers framed the move as a response to consumer demands. 

这一名为"灯箱"的珠宝品牌将提供人造钻石，其价格仅为天然开采出的钻石的一个零头。戴比尔斯称此举是为了满足消费者的需求。

The new synthetic diamonds will come in pink, blue and white, and stones will contain a tiny Lightbox logo. De Beers said the logo won't be visible to the naked eye, but it will make the stones easily identifiable as lab-grown.
