old怎么读英语发音

一、词类活用不同

1、year-old是“xx岁的”的意思，是形容词，一般用作定语，修饰名词，也可以用作名词。

2、years old，是个形容词短语，可做谓语，不可以做冠词，即不可以用来修饰名词代词等。

二、用法不同

1、大于一岁就用复数years old。

如：At 54 yearsold her energy and looks are magnificent. 

她54岁了，精力和气色都非常好。

2、刚好一岁及以下就用year old。 

如：The car is less than a year old, and therefore still under guarantee.

这辆车还不到一年，因此仍在保修期内。

三、读音不同

1、years old的英式读法是['jɜːz əʊld]；美式读法是['jɜːz oʊld]。

2、year-old的英式读法是['jɜːr'əʊld]；美式读法是['jɜːr'əʊld]。
