广州由秦汉起至明清两千多年间，一直是中国对外贸易的重要港口城市。广州是中国海上丝绸之路的起点，到唐宋时期，已发展成为世界著名的东方大港。

广州作为岭南文化的代表地，不仅历史悠久，文化底蕴丰厚，还有许多著名的旅游景点，例如南粤名山之一、自古就有“羊城第一秀”之称的白云山，还有如外观设计为巨大的珍宝盒式的广东博物馆。

Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, is one of the largest cities in China. Every year many visitors from home and abroad visit this amazing city. The best time to visit Guangzhou is from October to December because autumn is the best season here. It’s dry and warm, and the sky is clear and blue. There are many good places for you to visit. If you like nature, you can go hiking in Baiyun Mountain. Remember to take your camera so that you can take photos of those beautiful trees and flowers there. If you are interested in Cantonese culture, you can go to Yong Qing Fang. Here you can find many traditional buildings, for example, the Cantonese Opera Art Museum. It’s a good place for you to explore Lingnan culture. There are also many modern buildings in this city, for example, Guangdong Museum and Guangzhou Opera House in Zhujiang New Town.
