1. be out cold 失去意识，沉睡
Ross给Joey打电话想找Charlie解决他遇到的困境。这个困境就是他在做陈述时，领导睡着了Ross说He is out cold.
to be out cold 或out like a light 都可以表示无意识和睡得沉

Phoebe打扮得非常漂亮去出席前男友Mike的party, Joey说她是stop-eating hot.可Phoebe却说I am really dread going to the party.

虽然都有害怕做某事的意思但是be afraid of doing sth 有"scared"害怕的意思, 而be dread doing something"，意思是“真的不想做或者不喜欢做某事”。
Joey: (impressed) Wow! You look... (drops the cookie)... stop-eating hot! Which is like the highest level of hotness!
Phoebe: Are you sure? Because I'm really dreading going to this party.
Joey: Then don't go!
3. lose face 丢脸
David说自己骗Phoebe自己也有在see someone是因为不想再Phoebe面前lose face.
lose face 丢脸。
这个短语就是来源于中国，林语堂曾在My Country and My People一书中详细解释了什么是中国人的face，后来英语逐渐有了lose face这个短语。

Charlie惊讶地看到Phoebe和David在一起说这是third guy? Rachel回复道tip of the iceburg.

这里Rachel在内涵Phoebe还有更多男朋友，这才哪儿到哪儿啊。
