When laziness strikes,

当惰性来的时候

from my experience, one must look for a point of breakthrough,

我的经验是必须要去找一个突破口

we will need to sample the refreshing taste of success through this breakthrough point.

我们得在这个突破口里尝试到成功的爽快感

Laziness would not be defeated by scolding or blow,

惰性不会被责骂和打击打倒

it will only be destroyed by success and hope.

只会被成功和希望击破

Pry open the breakthrough point after finding it,

找到了突破口先撬一下

it is alright if the pole breaks, just look for a better pole.

杆子断了没事儿，再找一个好一点的杆子

Eg. They mapped the South Pole. 

他们绘制了南极的地图。

Eg. Whether in summer or in winter, the North Pole is covered with ice and snow.

不管冬天还是夏天，北极都覆盖着冰雪。

Eg. English is spoken from pole to pole.

英语在世界各地都通用。

v.用篙撑船，以杆推进、支撑;用杆子击打、戳、或搅拌

This fulcrum and pole will be our biggest weapon,

这个支点和这个杆子就是我们最大的武器

because in order to lift up the earth and move it, you have to make it move first.

因为我们要撬起地球，先得让它动动

If the earth does not move, where do you think our confidence will come from?

地球一直不动，你说我们的自信从哪里来？

When you try wiggling it slightly while lifting it up,

你要一边撬的时候一边动一动

Eg. Blink your eyes and wiggle your nose.

Eg. He got through the hole with a wriggle. 

他扭动着身子从洞口钻了出去。

wriggle out of 靠耍滑或找借口避免

Eg. She managed to wriggle out of answering all the questions.

她试图避免回答一切问题。

you may be able to dispel the laziness in yourself.

可能就把惰性给踢掉了

Eg. Strong tea can help to dispel the effects of alcohol.

浓茶可以醒酒。

Eg. The wind soon dispelled the fog.

风很快就把雾吹散了。

Eg. Truthful reports by the media can help dispel their doubts.

媒体真实的报道会打消他们的疑虑。

So, always work hard without being held back by laziness,

所以，总是努力不被惰性给拉住

try many different things, look for the things that you are good at.

做出各种尝试，找到自己最擅长做的事情

Furthermore, the most important thing is, we must think clearly,

而且更重要的是，我们得想好了

if we are lazy now, if we do not put in the effort and strive,

如果现在我们懒，我们不去努力不去拼

if we only stay at home to sleep,

只想在家里睡大头觉

then we will definitely pay the price for or own laziness. 

那么我们一定会为自己的懒而付出代价的

We failed the exam that we were supposed to pass, 

该及格的考试挂掉了

we lost the competition that we were supposed to win,

该出道的比赛输掉了

we lost the applause that we were supposed to get...

该赢得的掌声没有了……

Have we decided that we do not want those things?

我们做好决定这些都不要了吗？

Are we able to face and endure ourselves after losing all those things? 

我们能面对和承受这些失去之后的自己吗？

If your answer is no, then go and work hard.

不能，那就努力吧

I believe that the opportunities given by the Heavens above are very fair,

我相信上天给予每一个人的机会都是非常公平的

everybody will have their own outstanding point,

每个人都会有自己最出众的地方

it is just that you may have yet to find it,

只是你还没有找到而已

but please believe that it will definitely be found.

不过请相信一定会找到的
