Different from most often means simply that there are two different opinions about something. It does not mean that one is good or the other bad.
Different than most often means that there is a difference between two things and that one (mine) is better to hers.
Practice
Her idea of marriage is different from mine.
His idea of being a father is different than my idea of being one.
T he teacher's opinion is different from the book's author.
The policeman's judgment was much different from the driver's driving.
My thoughts about happiness are much different than my friend's thoughts about it.
The policeman said, "Sir, red is much different than green."
Trump's thoughts about the world are much different from my thoughts about it.
