Good morning.
Today, I'll teach you a word and a phrase that are often confused with Chinese English students. As always, I'll teach you the right way to use each one of them.
Word / Phrases
Expect
Look forward to to
'Expect' means to anticipate something in the future. You believe that something will happen in the future. If you use it to say, "I expect you to ......", then, it is a bit demanding and can be misunderstood. Sound not so nice.
To 'look forward to' means that you are very happy and excited about something that will happen in the future. It can mean mean 'expect' but not when used in a friendly, happy and excited way.
Practice
