A:Exactly.I can’t hide that I do like hot pot.Eating hot pot is a very pleasant experience in the cold winter.In recent years,with hot pot becoming more and more popular,it's become more of a great choice to get together.Imagine that family and friends sit around a table and cook food in the same pot of simmering broth together,enjoying chatting with each other while tasting the delicious and nutritious food. 冬季，来一顿驱寒暖身的火锅自然是最妙。近些年，随着火锅越来越受大家欢迎，它更是成为了亲朋好友团聚的极佳选择。围桌而坐，中间生起一锅热气腾腾的肉汤，边聊天边在火锅中寻味。氤氲的热气、翻滚的汤

Z:Oh no! My stomach is growling.I miss my hot pot,especially spicy broth.
A:I can’t accept spicy soup base. Maybe I prefer something light.It is distinguished from other soup bases by the extremely spicy peppers,which may be too hot for me to handle.Most impotantly,I’m afraid of getting the pimple.I’m suffering from the acne problem. This acne scar just doesn't go away.哎，我完全不能接受麻辣汤底的火锅，可能我更偏爱清淡可口的食物吧。辣椒和花椒是麻辣锅的灵魂，浓烈醇厚，碗筷未动，却已辛香扑鼻，但是对于我来说确实是太辣了。最重要的是，我非常害怕长痘，一直都深受青春

Z:Ha-ha,I don’t have such qualms.As a first-class lover of hot red chili peppers,no pleasure can equal that of reading a research published in the Public Library of Science journal,which shows that hot red chili peppers could be tied to a longer life expectancy and more specifically linked to lower mortality rates from heart disease and stroke. 哈哈，我就没有这样的顾虑。而且前几天，我还看到一篇研究，其中提到了吃红辣椒可以延长寿命。更具体地说，是因为它可以降低心脏病和中风的死亡率。作为一个辣椒的忠实粉丝，别提有多高兴了！
A:I know spicy foods have many positive effects,including protecting against high cholesterol, obesity,and Type 2 diabetes,but I still can’t get my daily dose of chili pepper like you.其实我知道辛辣食物对身体有很多积极的影响，比如说防止高胆固醇、肥胖和二型糖尿病，但我根本做不到像你们一样吃那么辣的东西。不过我觉得还是适量最好，否则长期吃太多过辣的食物容易刺激口腔、食管与胃肠道的黏膜，从而造成充血和水肿。
Z:Yep.Do you know double-flavor hot pot?It suits you very well!
A:这我知道，就是鸳鸯锅嘛。
That really should be perfect for me!I can’t resist it.The pot is divided into two halves,with one half spicy oil,and the other light broth for those who are not fond of spicy foods.By the way,when we explain Chinese dishes to foreign friends,we should pay more attention to the names of the dishes.值得一提的是，当我们在向外国人介绍中国的菜品时，我们要特别注意这些菜名的英文表达。比如说这个鸳鸯锅的表达，我们知道西方文化中是没有鸳鸯这个概念的，所以鸳鸯锅在英语中就不能直接说成Lovebirds Pot 或者 Mandarin Duck Pot。这里的“鸳鸯”其实指的是这个火锅有两种口味嘛，所以，鸳鸯锅我们一般会说成Double-Flavor Pot.
Z:对，像我们刚才一直在说的“hot pot”，如果hot和pot连在一起，没有中间的空格，那这个hotpot其实就不是我们说的火锅的意思了，而是指stockpot，就是大杂烩。It's very similar to a famous British dish,where vegetables,potatoes,onions and meat are put into a pot to stew together.这倒是和英国的一道名菜非常类似，都是把蔬菜、土豆、洋葱、肉放进锅里小火慢炖。
A:Speaking of that,it occurred to me that one of my friends recommended a famous Swiss dish named chocolate fondue.Mashed chocolate is cooked over a mild heat with a small amount of wine,cream,cheese and bread crumbs.Then the chopped fruit is dipped in the chocolate fondue with a long fork. 调温一锅浓郁半甜的巧克力汤底，浸入鲜甜的水果，焦脆的吐司混着酒的醇香，唇齿叩击着甜蜜的节奏，交融的香味共同谱出一首冬日恋歌。

A:椰子锅？其实我吃过啦！The coconut pot,which is filled with coconut juice,chicken nuggets and coconut,is light and refreshing.The soup tastes a bit sweet because coconut juice and corn sweeten the broth.Tender and juicy chicken is amazing.The coconut pot has both the salty flavor of chicken soup and the sweet flavor of coconut milk.So there is an indescribable wonderful feeling in your mouth,and when you swallow it,the taste is quite memorable.This is the unique charm of coconut pot.

Z:Yep.The hot pot is added with regional features in China.海南有鲜而不腻的椰子锅，苏杭有风味别致的菊花锅，潮汕有诱人馋涎的潮汕牛肉火锅，北京有号称“冬日养生神器“的铜锅涮羊肉……
A:Absolutely!For example,the instant-boiled mutton hot pot is loved by millions of families in northern China,and three important elements are the essence of this delicacy.The first is nourishing hand-cut mutton,the second is the charcoal pot,and finally,the soul of the hot pot,the dipping sauce.
